With the holidays on the horizon and a growing Generation Z consumer base, Coca-Cola is releasing flavors across its brands, including Vitaminwater, Powerade, Fairlife’s protein drinks, Sprite and Fresca. The new flavors are especially tailored to the expanding tastes of younger audiences to maintain Coca-Cola’s appeal and revenue growth.
In a company statement, Shakir Moin, president of marketing for Coca-Cola North America, said, “What people want from their beverages continues to evolve, from new flavors and experiences to added functionality…The breadth of our portfolio gives us an incredible opportunity to meet those changing needs and give people more choices for more moments throughout their day.”
With the new flavors, Classic Coca-Cola gets an added twist with the new Cherry Lime flavor launching in February 2027. In addition to cherry lime, Coca-Cola will also release a strawberry float flavor during the summer of 2027.
Furthermore, for younger consumers, hydration is becoming increasingly important. Coca-Cola is bringing flavors and formulas to capitalize on the expanding market for hydration drinks.
Powerade is adding Watermelon and Lemon Lime Zero Sugar flavors in January 2027 to bring new life to the sports hydration drink’s lineup. Vitaminwater is also expanding its zero sugar offerings with a new zero sugar formula 100, which contains a variety of vitamins.
According to company data, Fairlife is approaching $4 billion in retail sales and is still growing. With protein drinks growing in popularity, Fairlife Core Power protein drinks are also releasing new flavors. Core Power Banana, in both 26 gram and 42 gram options, will be added in January 2027 and Core Power Strawberry, in the 26 gram option, will also be added.
With consumer preferences changing, Coca-Cola sees innovation as key to its future growth. Moin said, “For us, innovation starts with the consumer. It’s about understanding what people are looking for, where their interests are going and then using the strength of our brands to create something relevant and compelling. That’s how we continue to learn, evolve and bring new choices to consumers.”
Consumers will soon be able to try and react to these flavor additions, and the feedback will further impact Coca-Cola’s future decisions.
