The current standing seems to favor the first three teams at having a greater chance at qualification.
Historically, England’s cricket team has been at the forefront of the sport, often leading the scoreboard and being one of the first to qualify for the semis. They won the last championship in 2019, but this year has brought a dramatic change in England’s performance with the team placing dead last. The team has won only one out of the seven matches that they have played, effectively rendering them unable to qualify for the knockout stage.

The statistics find that South Africa’s wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock is the leading run-scorer in obtaining a grand 550 runs in eight games bringing his average to 68.75. He is closely followed by former Indian captain Virat Kohli who secured 543 runs in eight games with an average of 108.60. The current Indian captain has achieved the most centuries in World Cup cricket. Sharma now has seven centuries, which is the most for any cricketer. India and South Africa are evidently the leading teams by proving their might by securing wins and breaking records.
