The Ticker Bites: Restaurants of the week

Ma-Nogoy Faye, Business Manager

New York City is the place for delicious food at every moment of the day. However, it can be quite expensive! As a college student, knowing how to navigate the city’s restaurant scene while staying on budget can be a challenge, but not at all impossible.

Here are some of my favorite spots near Baruch Collegefor a delicious meal at an affordable price.

For Breakfast: BAGEL EXPRESS

Bagel Express is the perfect spot to stop for breakfast after an early class or between morning classes. This bakery offers a familiar selection of fresh bagels, breakfast and lunch sandwiches and coffee. Their version of the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich is underrated and there is indoor seating for a sit-down meal on colder days. Located right on the Plaza, closer to 3rd Ave.

For Lunch: AWESUM DIMSUM

You’ve probably heard of this place from TikTok, and I promise it’s worth the hype. This casual, industrial-style Cantonese eatery whips up the best baked, fried and steamed buns and more! Located on 23rd and 3rd Ave.

For Lunch: BLUEBELL CAFE

For all my brunch lovers like myself, the Bluebell Cafe is open for lunch, dinner and brunch. This cozy restaurant features exposed brick and crystal chandeliers and serves an all-day menu of French American fare, including pancakes and omelets for breakfast and grilled sandwiches and pan roasted salmon for dinner, to name a few. Located on 3rd Ave between 22nd and 23rd St.

For Dinner: MILU

Milu is a hidden gem perfect for lunch or dinner! This easygoing destination spotlights regional Chinese cooking, plus drinks & desserts. Located right on 23rd and Park Ave next to Gregory’s Coffee.

Those are my picks for this week! I hope you enjoy and stay tuned for more favorites next week!
