Ahead of the November midterm elections, The Guardian reported a low 33% approval of Donald Trump’s presidency amongst American voters. Trump used his administration to further enrich himself, some Americans agree, with 34% of those 66% of voters belonging to the Republican party.
The polling published on Oct. 19 revealed that the prevailing belief amongst Americans is disapproval of the economy under Trump’s administration.
An overwhelming 75% shared the sentiment that the economy is “not so good” or “poor.” A Reuters survey mirrored the sentiment, where 63% of voters considered the crypto profits of Trump’s family as “inappropriate,” and 69% believe that there is conflict of interest between Trump’s private businesses and its diffusion with political decisions while serving in public office. Such accusations have been denied by the White House principal deputy press secretary, Anna Kelly, who stated that Trump’s judgements are grounded on public interest.
The Annual Public Financial Disclosure Report released on June 30 reported that Trump’s income in 2025 equated to a minimum of $2.2 billion in comparison to his reported income in 2024 of at least $622 million.
Trump previously expressed apprehension to the crypto market, arguing its value to be “highly volatile, and based on thin air… [which] can facilitate unlawful behavior..” in an X post made on Jul. 11, 2019.
In October of 2024, Trump’s financial disclosures reported earnings worth $57 million from World Financial Liberty crypto gains.
By June 2025 the financial disclosure reported that approximately $1.4 billion of Trump’s assets derived from cryptocurrency investments and trades.
Of the $1.4 billion, a remarkable $500 million was generated from somewhat of a discreet investment from Sheikh Tahnoon, who oversees the Emirati artificial intelligence and investment firms G42 and MGX. The deal occurred on Jan. 16 – just four days ahead of Trump’s inauguration.
Tahnoon purchased 49% of a “secret stake” in the deal with the Trump family’s cryptocurrency company World Liberty Financial, which launched during his 2024 campaign. It directly tapped a $187 million payment into the company, of the $500 million investment. By May 13, the administration lifted Biden’s AI export license restrictions for advanced computing integrated circuits. Coincidentally, within the newly authorized AI chip exports to the UAE, 20% of the sales directly reached Tahnoon’s company, G42.
Trump disclosed in March 2025 that the USD1 would be the stablecoin currency for WLF, which enabled a $2 billion MGX investment through Binance by May, simultaneously remunerating Trump in interest. Six months later, Trump pardoned Changpeng Zhao, the co-founder of Binance, for violating the U.S Ban Secrecy Act.
Layers of regulation imposed by the Securities and Exchange Commissions have revoked oversight of meme coins launched three days prior to Trump’s inauguration, which capitalizes on the Trump brand and grants top stakeholders private dinners with the president. While the TRUMP coin monetized a $616 million gain for the family business, its devolution lost buyers at least $700 million.
