Blind auditions for the reality competition show “The Voice” wrapped up on March 21, spelling a turbulent season for a new panel of judges.

The Voice,” where talented singers and groups compete for a record deal, is currently in its 23rd season.

The show’s newest judges, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan, are already challenging seasoned judges Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson.

This season is especially important for Blake Shelton because it will be his last season as a judge. He is an integral part of what makes the show so popular and has been on the show since it first started 12 years ago. This has become a running joke between him and the other judges, who make fun of his pitch to every artist, which emphasizes that it’s his last season.

Each judge is only allowed 10 people on their team this season, making for stiff competition between the contestants. Each coach even has their own merchandise exclusively for people on their team. .”

The contestants this season demonstrate versatility, auditioning with songs ranging from country to rock and roll, many with inspiring and heartfelt stories.

24-year-old artist ALI from Walnut, California shocked the judges when she told them she is hearing impaired. ALI sang a beautiful rendition of “Killing Me Softly with His Song” by Roberta Flack and grabbed the attention of two judges, Kelly Clarkson and Chance, through her creative note changes. She chose Team Kelly, joining other incredible singers on her team.

Two groups made it past the blind auditions: Sheer Element and Sorelle. Sheer Element is composed of Izzy Kaye, Tabon Ward and Jej Vinson and has chosen Team Kelly. Vinson, a previous Voice contestant, became the first to return to the competition with a group. The group Sorelle is made up of sisters Madi, Ana, and Bella who have gone with Team Chance.

Coach Chance even has two four-chair turning artists on his team. NOVIAS, who performed a chilling rendition of Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” blew the judges away. Chance’s compelling pitch left NOVIAS no choice but to choose Team Chance. NariYella’s powerful performance of Dreamgirls’s “One Night Only” also won her a spot on Team Chance after a four-chair turn.

Team Niall has a lot of young talent, along with one country artist. Contestant Ray Clayton got a four-chair turn for his rendition of “Blue Ain’t Your Color” by Keith Urban. He had Horan literally on his knees begging for him to be the first person on Team Niall. Judge Niall’s efforts did not go in vain — Clayton eventually chose Team Niall.

Team Blake has a great mix of rock, country and pop artists. One strawberry farming rocker stole the show with his gravelly performance of Daughtry’s “It’s Not Over.” Karson Lester is now part of Blake Shelton’s ‘Dream Team’ for his last season on “The Voice.”

Now that the blinds are over, the coaches must prepare their teams for the battle rounds.

The result of the auditions will play out every Monday and Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. on NBC.
