This game was a hard-hitting affair. It was packed in almost every inning and the game was impacted with various runs. While both teams are still in the postseason race, the Mets need to improve to secure a slot.
During the trade deadline, the Mets have made some good acquisitions with center fielder Cedric Mullins and relievers Ryan Helsley, Gregory Soto and Tyler Rogers.
After the trade deadline, the Mets have been in a slump. Losing 14 of their last 16 games means the Mets must find a way to get back on track to maintain their playoff contention.
The Mets are currently in the final wildcard spot, while only holding on to a half-game lead over the Cincinnati Reds. The Mets have a long way to go but have the tools to improve.
