The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers faced off at MetLife Stadium for Week 11 of the NFL season. The Giants have been hit heavy by the injury bug, as most of their star players on offense are out for this game.
Malik Nabers has been out with a torn ACL, Cam Skattebo broke his ankle against the Eagles and Jaxson Dart is out on concussion protocol. For the Packers, they came into this game after a loss on Monday night football to the Eagles, where the offense was a complete no-show.
The Giants would get off to a great start to this game as they marched down the field on the first drive of the game.
With two big Jameis Winston’s 20-yard passes would set up Devin Singletary for a five-yard rushing touchdown to put the Giants on the board first. The rest of the first quarter would be quite of both teams punted.
In the second quarter, the Packers would go on a great drive, picking off the Giants’ defense and getting into the red zone. Packers quarterback Jordan Love would go down temporarily, forcing backup quarterback Malik Willis to step in and find wide receiver Christian Watson for a Packers touchdown.
The Giants would punt again on their next drive, setting up another Packers touchdown drive, during which Love stepped back into the game and found Emanuel Wilson for the second Packers touchdown.
The Giants answered with a touchdown drive of their own to tie the game up 13-13 going into halftime.
The third quarter saw only a touchdown drive from the Packers, where a 35-yard pass interference put the Packers at the goal line and set up an easy two-yard touchdown pass from Love to put the Packers back on top.
In the fourth quarter, the Giants went on a 16-play touchdown drive that ended with Winston rushing touchdown to put the Giants up 20-19.
Love, who hasn’t had his best year, would go on what could end up being one of the most important drives in the season.
With 5:56 on the clock , he found Savion Williams for a 33-yard pass, leading to a 17-yard touchdown pass to Watson to give the Packers the lead.
Winston would lead the Giants back down the field, but an interception in the endzone would end this game 27-20.
