Fashion Week is known all over the world for its impact on shaping how fashion is displayed, discussed and celebrated. From high-end fashion shows to pop-up events across countries, Fashion Week brings the creatives together. Like the designated major fashion hubs — Milan, Paris and New York — menswear has its own Fashion Week based in these locations, showing that menswear is just as important to showcase.
Just like womenswear, the interest of menswear grew and led to fragmented shows and designers seeking a platform to exhibit their talents. Cities like Vancouver and London dedicated days for only menswear to flourish.
In 2014, public relations firm Agentry PR started New York Men’s Day in support of the emerging menswear talent as they rose to the limelight. In 2015, the Council of Fashion Designers of America launched NYFW: Men’s, solidifying a platform for menswear collections. This pattern of designation toward men’s style throughout countries birthed the concept of giving menswear their own week of fashion expression.
This biannual event just wrapped up its January showings in Milan and Paris. The week started with Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy on Jan. 13, then continued in Milan on Jan. 16. Showcasing the fall and winter wear for 2026.
Historical references and modern elegance fuel the designer’s inspiration, as well as sustainability. Designers play with silhouettes and fabrics to bring their visions to life, giving their fashion show audiences something to talk about.
Popular fashion houses like Dior, Hermès and Louis Vuitton took the runway to the next level on the final days of Menswear Fashion Week in Paris. Three-time Designer of the Year winner Jonathan Anderson showed off his sophomore collection for Dior.
Vèronique Nichanian, the menswear artistic director of Hermès, presented her farewell collection before stepping down after 37 years with the company. American musician and record producer Pharrell Williams, who is now the new menswear creative director for Louis Vuitton, showcased his collection as well.
American rapper and Christian Louboutin’s first men’s creative director Jaden Smith officially kicked off his position with his debut collection. The calendar for the rest of MFW is packed with some exciting visuals and people are eager to get front row seats.
MFW in Europe ended on Jan. 25, setting up the tone for NYFW, which will take place from Feb. 11 to Feb. 16, with back-to-back fashion events for upcoming designers, bloggers, journalists and photographers to look forward to as they work toward getting their foot in the door.
