The 2025-26 school year is now in session, and CUNY rang in the fall semester by welcoming about 240,000 incoming freshmen and transfer students.
Baruch College has not yet released its fall 2025 enrollment numbers; however, the fall 2024 semester marked the first time in Baruch’s history that both enrollment and headcount surpassed 20,000 – a 2% increase compared to the previous year.
Over the years, Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business has experienced a significant increase in popularity, marked by steadily improving national rankings and recognition.
Approximately 14,879 students enrolled in Zicklin for fall 2024, accounting for about 75% of the entire student population.
The Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, which offers more than 50 areas of study, has also seen a steady increase in enrollment as more students focus on majors related to psychology, communication and history. In 2024, Weissman students made up over 23% of the school’s population.
Students enrolled in the Marxe School of Public Affairs made up less than 1% of the Baruch community last year. Although Marxe is less popular, students who pursue a Bachelor of Science in public affairs go on to work for government agencies, nonprofit organizations and other businesses of public interest.
With its growing population, both Baruch and CUNY aim to become a more accessible institution for all.
For Zicklin students, the Zicklin Co-Op program, which partners with the Starr Career Development Center, connects undergraduate students with paid, full-time work opportunities.
Marxe students can earn a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in just five years with four accelerated program offerings.
CUNY Reconnect now offers free community college for adults aged 25 to 55. CUNY has also introduced new degree offerings in artificial intelligence and free legal assistance for students who have been impacted by changes in immigration policies.
There are also additional support resources for Baruch students.
