Many students were appreciative of the welcoming atmosphere in the room, as there were performers who showcased their art for the first time and others who felt comfortable enough to try out new material or freestyle.
“Most of all was the reaction I got from the crowd, that really gave me my confidence, and by my second verse I was comfortable,” said performer Daniel Ross. The event also allowed performers to learn from the show and consider new methods to improve their stage presence, as Romero noted.
“Next time, I need it to come in more relaxed. I’m confident about my music, I’m trying to make it so that was the first of many,” Romero said.
