After two years, SEVENTEEN has returned to the UBS Arena in New York for the U.S. leg of their tour “SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR.”
Carats, the name for their fanbase, have eagerly anticipated this moment, especially after their previous tour’s success, which amassed millions of views across various social media platforms.
Despite the absence of members Yoon Jeonghan and Wen “Jun” Junhui, SEVENTEEN delivered a captivating performance as if no members were missing. While doors did not open until 6 p.m., fans rushed to make it on time.
The tour began with the powerful track “Fear,” igniting the crowd, who erupted in applause. As the concert progressed, the audience maintained their enthusiasm, reciprocating the energy that each member demonstrated in their performance.
When it came time for the members to introduce themselves, each shared heartfelt messages, receiving applause. Kwon “Hoshi” Soon-young, the final member to speak, took a playful approach by encouraging the audience to mimic a tiger’s paw, eliciting laughter and engagement from the crowd.
Following this lighthearted moment, the group continued their dynamic setlist, including “Ash,” further exciting the audience.
“Crush” was performed next, showcasing their mesmerizing dance routines where Carats across each section mimicked the dance moves of their idols.
The 13-member group also operates as three different subunits, with each unit performing two songs.
The hip-hop unit kicked off this segment with powerful performances of “Water” and “Monster,” where fans enthusiastically joined in with their rapping style and rhythms.
The performance unit followed, performing “Rain” and “Lilili Yabbay.” Sadly, Jun’s absence due to promotional activities in China left the unit as a trio; nevertheless, each member exuded extraordinary charisma, filling the empty void of their precious member.
The vocal unit concluded the performances of subunits with “Candy” and “Cheers to Youth,” with the audience joining in to harmonize with their heavenly voices, even in the absence of their ‘angel,’ Jeonghan.
Following the subunit performances, SEVENTEEN sang “Oh My!,” a mixture of both a skit and a performance that once again elicited laughter from the audience. The group succeeded in bringing joy to everyone present.
Later, they encouraged the audience to cheer for the absent members, evoking a sense of emotion among the fans. SEVENTEEN proceeded with the final stages of their performance.
Their tour concluded with a lengthy rendition of “VERY NICE,” a tradition that has been a staple of every tour.
Their encore featured at least seven renditions, during which the audience enthusiastically joined in, leaving member Boo Seung-kwan visibly surprised by one fan’s singing.
SEVENTEEN has consistently reestablished itself as one of the most iconic K-pop groups, and with a remarkable setlist like theirs, it’s no surprise that Carats exude a love that shines as brightly as their support for one another.
