This inaction could cost her the 2024 election.
In Michigan, a crucial swing state, President Joe Biden’s narrow victory margin of 155,000 votes in 2020 relied on Muslim voters, 70% of whom backed him. There are 206,000 registered Muslim voters in the state, but turnout is expected to drop as disillusionment grows.
Polls fluctuate between Harris and Trump daily, with Harris’ support among Arab Americans 18 points lower than Biden’s 2020 level, per the Arab American Institute.
Some voters are considering third-party candidates, demonstrating that their votes cannot be taken for granted.
The United States recently issued a 30-day ultimatum to Israel to increase humanitarian aid access, threatening to cut military assistance. Yet, since last October, the U.S. has provided $18 billion to Israel, funding weapons used in Gaza’s bombardment.
U.S.-made bombs have killed 16,456 children.
These “warnings” are ineffective, as Israel continues its operations without consequences.
Western leaders frame Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s killing as a chance for peace talks, but Israel has made clear that it intends to decimate Gaza’s population rather than negotiate.
The West’s complicity, making excuses while Israel moves closer to annexing Gaza, echoes past global failures to confront unchecked aggression where leaders pursued ethnic domination at any cost.
Regardless of the election outcome, this period will stain Harris’ legacy. The Biden-Harris administration will be remembered for funding Israel’s genocide and no political victory can erase that.
