Following the conclusion of the 2024 presidential election, Republicans have swept the Senate to clench the majority and are poised to do the same in the House of Representatives.
Votes are still being counted in key states, which brings up the broader concern about voting integrity and counting efficiency. Fundamentally, it makes little sense that votes are still being counted this far past Election Day in the greatest nation on Earth.
For example, Arizona’s Pima County is suffering from the same funny business experienced in Maricopa County in the last election cycle, with tabulation issues and potential concerns about election officials shifting votes around in the Senate and House races, chalking it up to a clerical error. However, only time and future litigation will reveal the truth.
Talking heads across the political spectrum, from MSNBC to the hosts of “The View,” are concerned about President-elect Donald Trump’s future candidacy and the subversion of democracy. There is also concern that some sort of authoritarian moment is approaching the nation, but lest we forget, Trump won the electoral and popular vote. The will of the people has been heard and will be enacted.
