Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 after dethroning Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.” The Bronx artist has become the first female rapper to achieve a solo number one hit since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Woop (That Thing)” in 1998.

J Balvin and Willy Williams presented a remix of their summer hit “Mi Gente” featuring Beyoncé. Following the release, the remix topped charts on multiple music streaming sites. Beyoncé donated proceeds from the song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and other affected Caribbean islands.

Legendary rocker Tom Petty, who has sold over 80 million records, has died at the age of 66 from a heart attack. He was known as the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, as well as the co-founder of the band Traveling Wilburys.

The Lion King’s Tony winner Julie Taymor will direct a biopic about feminist icon Gloria Steinem for the big screen. The screenplay will be written by Sarah Ruhl, who is known for her work on off-Broadway stages.

Spanish fashion house Balenciaga once again stunned the world of fashion during Paris Fashion Week by debuting a collection of Crocs. The Balenciaga version of the infamous foam clogs are seated on a 10-inch platform, adorned with various charms like flags, bumper stickers and animals.

French cosmetics and hair product giant L’Oreal presented its first ever fashion show at Paris Fashion Week. The runway featured not only a parade of models, but also British pop star Cheryl, as well as Oscar-winning actresses Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda. The show was created to showcase the brand’s new products and contributions to Paris Fashion Week over the years, as well as solidify its status in the fashion world.
